Digital Customer Platform Development

As part of a project for a leading motor insurance provider, a digital customer mobile app was developed to streamline customer interactions. I was tasked with redesigning a core app feature's digital user journey, the focus was on addressing existing pain points in both customer experiences and internal workflows to make a perfect, accessible application.

Role: UX Designer & Business Analyst & Design QA

As a UX designer and business analyst in the creation of this mobile app, I redesigned a core feature's user journey to address internal and external pain points. By leveraging my designs, I was able to create detailed functional specifications and documentation to hand over to the developers which included thorough accessibility checking throughout the whole application. Additionally, I contributed to android development quality assurance, identifying bugs and areas for improvement to ensure a high-quality final product.

Design work

Fuel voucher feature

In this project, I played a key role in improving the existing fuel voucher feature and redesigning the digital user journey within the app. I conducted thorough analysis and gathered stakeholder feedback to identify challenges and areas for improvement. Through strategic upliftment of the fuel voucher feature and streamlining the digital user journey, I addressed both customer and internal pain points.

Other roles

This applications is going to be used by a large volume of users which meant that it needed to be made accessible for many different user groups. I worked specifically on making sure the application was accessible for those who were vision impaired. This included testing for dynamic text and making sure minimum and maximum text sizes didn’t impact UI to the point of it being unusable and also accounting for voice over for those who use screen-readers . I worked thoroughly to make sure that every screen in the application had an accessibility key to make it clear to the developers to implement on launch.

Business Analyst

As part of the BA stream, I supported the creation of functional specifications for handoff to developers before the build phase. My responsibility was to thoroughly understand every aspect of the features being documented, enabling me to address queries from developers and stakeholders effectively. As this was a relatively new role for me, I needed to be able to quickly manage my tasks within my different roles and embrace the challenge to improve my growth as a Product Designer.

Design QA

In addition to my roles as a UX designer and BA, I also contributed to android design quality assurance. This was a new skill that I aquired on this project which required me to be highly detail oriented as I needed to identify bugs, areas for improvement and check the UI was correct before launch, to guarantee the delivery of a high-quality final product.

High fidelity prototype

I was assigned the task of creating a high-level prototype and promotional video to showcase the app's functionality and features. Leveraging my skills in prototyping I created a comprehensive working prototype that demonstrated the app's user interface and interactions. Utilising the prototype, I produced a short promotional video that effectively highlighted the app's key benefits and value propositions. Learning a new skill in video editing proved a challenge in the beginning, but i was fulfilling to see it all come together in the end.
