It all started with a simple quest for a mild, flavourful chilli oil that didn't break the bank. Frustrated by supermarket options that were either too hot or full of preservatives and MSG, we decided to create our own. After hours of experimenting, we perfected a magical crispy chilli oil that we loved. Sharing it with friends and family led to the realization that this product deserved a wider audience. Thus, RAWR was born!

As the co-founder and design lead of RAWR Chilli Oil, I took charge of creating our brand's look and feel. I designed everything from the logo to the marketing materials to make sure our product stood out. I worked closely with my team to develop a top-notch chilli oil and made sure it met our high standards. I also helped plan and run marketing campaigns to get the word out about RAWR and grow our brand.

Creating the branding for RAWR Chilli Oil was an exciting journey that allowed me to blend creativity with strategy. I aimed to develop a visual identity that was not only bold and vibrant but also welcoming to those who get scared off by the words ‘chilli oil’. From designing the logo and packaging to choosing the colour palette and typography, every detail was carefully crafted to stand out on the shelf and invite curiosity without intimidation.

Content Creation

I was pleasantly surprised to find myself stepping into the role of a content creator for RAWR. Initially, I hadn't anticipated just how much storytelling and engagement would be needed to build our brand. From social media posts to filming tiktoks, I discovered a new passion for creating content that inspired me to keep content creating.

Sales

At local markets, we all take an active role in sales and promotion for RAWR. We engage directly with customers to showcase our product's unique qualities and share the story behind its creation. By offering samples, answering questions, and highlighting the benefits of our chilli oil, we have built many connections with the locals who now seek us out at different markets. Working hands on at these markets allows us to gather on the spot feedback, which helps us continually improve our product and better meet the needs of our customers.

Challenges & Learnings

Breaking into the competitive chilli oil market posed significant challenges, but we were determined to make RAWR Chilli Oil stand out. The market was already saturated with various other brands, making it a key point for us to differentiate our product. We focused on creating a unique blend that balanced heat and flavour, avoiding the overpowering spiciness or additives found in other products. Additionally, our vibrant, welcoming branding and engaging storytelling helped to create a distinct identity that resonated with customers.
