Digital Twin Project

In this project, we bring together data from various sources and transform it into user-friendly formats, helping users update data with confidence and accuracy. By aligning different data sources and presenting them in intuitive interfaces, we enable users to make better decisions and ensure their key information remains reliable.

Key skills:

Role: Product Designer

As a product designer on this project, I developed a new version of a traffic disruption management app, enhancing workflows and updating it to a more accessible interface. I co-led the UX for a new application within an existing suite, creating high-fidelity wireframes, user flows, and prototypes. Collaborating closely with the client, I ensured we met detailed requirements and effectively managed stakeholders during key meetings and design sessions. Once launched, the application will optimize disruption management for the state rail and ground transport network.

Design work

Full app design

We designed the app to seamlessly fit into the existing suite of applications while introducing new features, leveraging an established design system. By integrating new functionality within the framework of the existing system and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, we ensured consistency while enhancing user experience. Designing within an established suite of apps was a challenge as it required collaboration with existing developers and designers for any integration of new elements into the design system.

User management portal

I spearheaded the design of the core app feature, User Management, which was to be implemented across the entire app suite. My responsibilities included crafting user flows, process flows, and site maps to ensure seamless integration and optimized functionality across multiple applications. The user flow was the most challenging aspect of this feature as there were many admin levels and types which created complex rules that the design needed to follow.

Design documentation

Working closely with the BA team, I played a key role in supporting the creation of design documentation in Confluence, ensuring all assets were updated with the most up to date information. As this was being added to an existing set of confluence pages, finding my way through the maze of notes and hyperlinks was a challenge at the beginning, but I quickly found my feet and was able to create and navigate to documents in no time.

Takeaways

My primary takeaway from this project was mastering stakeholder management. From daily design check-ins to comprehensive tech validation sessions, I navigated client expectations, requirements, and time constraints well. By creating strong relationships with the client, I was able to see into the core of their expectations, ensuring successful project delivery.
